ROSES & CLOVERLEAF CARDIGAN
This cardigan is knit in Brown Sheep's Lamb's Pride Worsted, a great yarn for soft and comfortable knits.

The construction is a basic Norwegian-style drop shoulder, with the body knit circularly (with steeks), and the sleeves knit from the cuffs up and sewn in, so that the "lice" and patterning match the knit direction of the body.

The large motif is an adaptation of a multiple harness weaving draft, from the early 1700's. The pattern draft was called "Little Roses and Cloverleaf in Point Twill."

Corrugated ribbing borders the body's lower edge, neck edge and sleeve cuffs, with a simple stockinette facing bordering the front bands. The facing is in two colors, Brown Heather along the lower front edge of the cardigan and Prairie Fire along the upper front edge, to match the background color on each part of the sweater. Pewter clasps finish the look, but you can sew in a zipper, if you desire, for a more modern look!
