BUTTERFLY BABY BLANKET
|
The inspiration for this design was a photo of an Eastern Tailed Blue Butterfly.
I was captivated by the colors in the wings and just had to design a butterfly blanket. The blanket could also easily be a wall hanging, as it is so graphic.
Like the other blankets in this series, it is knit with doubled strands of Cascade Yarns Eco+ Peruvian wool yarn, with a touch of doubled Cascade 220 for the duplicate stitched gold wing spots.

Finished Dimensions:
A - Width across upper left wingtip to upper right wingtip: 51"
B - Length of butterfly body (center): 27"
C - Width across lower left wingtip to lower right wingtip: 35"
Yarns:
Cascade Yarns Eco+, 100% Peruvian wool, approx. 478 yds / 250 gram hank: 1 hank each #8449 (med. blue), 5342 (deeper blue), 8010 (natural), and
0050 (black)
Cascade Yarns 220, 100% Peruvian wool, approx. 220 yds / 100 gram hank: 1 hank #7827 (gold)
Gauge: 14 sts and 20 rows = 4" (10 cm) with 2 strands yarn and size 10.5 ndls or size to give gauge.
Substitute Yarn Weight: Heavy Worsted used double, or super bulky
