short update

Am working on uploading some designs onto Patternfish. And just began my 3rd pair of Lopi socks for CIC.

It's been awhile since I worked up a batch of CIC socks. I usually get into a groove and can't *stop* making them! That groove hasn't hit me yet. Probably because too many other things weigh upon my mind, but all this rain hasn't helped, either! But, I'm forging ahead best I can.

And today the sun has finally decided to show his face. How emotionally debilitating the rain can be. It saps motivation and happiness.

Am still waiting on the rad onc to begin scheduling my treatments. I'm eager to get this stuff over with already. I know the daily sessions will begin to wear on me by the 2nd week, as it is, without the waiting testing my patience further. I don't want the rest of the summer pissed away with treatments. Still want to get that week away, *before* autumn hits.

Am considering whether to knit the 2nd Fana pullover sample in the same Softspun yarn or do it in Peace Fleece. Different gauge, I know. Do I *really* want to do a pattern with 2 sets of sizes using 2 gauges?

But I like the idea of a Father's Grey and Antarctica White Fana with a Perestroika Pink accent. As a cardigan. With the pink and grey checked border running up the front and around the neck, ala kimono-style. A mix of Norway and Japan. Talk about mixing ethnic styles in one sweater! Sounds like a separate design to me.

BTW, the KAL installments will be listed in my sidebar.

It's a beautiful day out today, so what am I doing? Detailing the kitchen! But then I think I'll print out those 2 new patterns I've been working on and sit outside to proof and edit them. And see if there isn't more lettuce to pluck for lunch.

What a beautiful thing your Fana sweater is - and excellent directions for knitting it. I'm especially impressed by your method of figuring out the different colors of yarn needed (not being much of a color knitter myself). The gray/white/touch of pink cardigan sounds wonderful. Maybe we can anticipate seeing that design soon? I'm at the time of life when cardigans are so much more practical than pullovers - on and off with the layers!

Keeping my fingers crossed for your radiation sessions to start soon. I finished mine on Monday and it wasn't so bad, just wearying to be there every.single.day. Another MUGA scan today and that's the last of the hospital until next week for me.

Be well,
Anne

Hiya Anne,
Thanks for the kind words about the Fana!

IF I start the grey/white/pink Fana soon, I could have it done in a couple/few weeks - the sweater, the pattern will take a bit longer.

I could do that and hold off on the 2nd pullover sample.

I don't have nearly enough cardies myself, as well, tho the phyto-estrogens help alot to take care of the hot flashes.

I'm so glad to hear that your radiation wasn't too problematic - like chemo is!

I joked with the rad onc that maybe it will make my edema go away (I've researched til I'm blue in the face). She laughed and said if radiation makes it go away, she's writing a paper on it.

Which I guess means it's not likely to do so! But heck, I'm a 2-3%er (Myers-Briggs), so maybe that could be my claim to fame! - as a patient listed in the New England Journal of Medicine - the first one to lose edema with radiation!

Good Luck on your MUGA scan. May you be cleared of all those nasty cells!

I vote for the cardigan instead of the second sample sweater. (Are we voting?!) I'm just selfish that way! I love the idea of the kimono shape with the Norwegian patterns.

MUGA scan completed. We both probably glow in the dark by now with the radioisotopes.
Anne

I'm open to votes, Anne! Maybe I'll begin plotting it today.

Yes, we're both walking flashlights by now!
