it's hats for me

Got my new wig - looks fine online and on the styrofoam head, but doesn't look good on me. Bah. Have put it up on Ebay.

Checkup went fine today. Though I find out that I have months left of treatments yet to do. *Thought* it was 6 treatments, when in fact it's 6 *series* or 12 treatments. I'll be going there every week until mid-March - another bah.

There's also tests - pet scan, muga scan and pulmonary tests - to do again now and again later - such a nuisance. But good thing hubby's working that 2nd job - I've long lost track of all the co-pays. I'm gonna go drown myself in some beef stew and egg nog, then RE-finish that 2nd mitten and soak them, then do some housework, whilst I wait for the mail and the big brown truck to bring me some yarn happiness.

Dawn - glad to see that your energy is continuing through the chemo treatments. I'm envying you your chemo hats - I've got to start knitting some soon. I'm not a wig person and I'm sure one would look ridiculous on me. I think you're brave to try one. Nothing like one's own hair! I've got a MUGA scan and PET scan this week and a port installation next week. My chemo will start around the 15th.
Regards from the Jersey Shore,
Anne

Hi Anne,
I'll make you a hat!

Doc told me hair doesn't start falling out til chemo treatment #2 (and mine fell out on schedule!), so you've got a bit of time, yet. The port is a good thing, as they take blood all the time, as well.

The 1st treatment brought me the most side effects. Hopefully, your bod will get used to the chemicals quickly, as mine did, so the rest of the treatments will only have minor side effects to deal with.
