Chemo hat pattern, printer, cobbler
Here's the hat I mentioned.
It's like my Pillbox Hat, but, as this is cotton, it is not felted. I am working on decorative bands that will slip onto the hat, once worn, so there's no sewing needed, and they can be changed out quickly, to match or coordinate with wardrobe.

Cotton Rolled Brim Chemo Hat
This head model is a small size, so the hat doesn't sit *this* low on an average head!
Blue Sky Alpacas Organic Cotton, 100% color grown, 100 g / 150 yds, color #80
size 7 (4.5mm) dpns and 16" ckn
tapestry ndl
Finished Dimensions
Circ: 20"
Depth from Edge of Rolled Brim to Top of Crown: 7.5"
Gauge: 4.5 sts and 7 rnds/1" in Stockinette stitch
m1 = make 1 = place a twisted st onto the left-hand ndl
Beginning at the crown
CO 6 sts onto 3 dpns.
(K1, m1) around = 12 sts.
(K2, m1) around = 18 sts.
(K3, m1) around = 24 sts.
(K4, m1) around = 30 sts.
(K5, m1) around = 36 sts.
(K6, m1) around = 42 sts.
(K7, m1) around = 48 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
(K8, m1) around = 54 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
(K9, m1) around = 60 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
(K10, m1) around = 66 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
(K11, m1) around = 72 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
(K12, m1) around = 78 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
(K13, m1) around = 84 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
(K14, m1) around = 90 sts. Purl 1 rnd.
Knit for 4.25".
Shaping for Rolled Edge
(K4, k2tog) around, leaving off last k2tog = 76 sts. Knit 1 rnd.
(K2, m1) around = 114 sts.
Knit for 1.5".
(K3, k2tog) 22x, K2, k2tog = 91 sts. Knit 1 rnd. BO.
Finishing and Washing
Weave in yarn tails with tapestry ndl.
Cotton tends to grow in the wash, so, after hand washing the hat, lay it flat to dry until damp, then put it into the dryer with some other similar weight laundry (like permanent press items) and tumble dry it on low heat for a few minutes at a time until the correct size.
Will post photos with decorative bands in a couple/few days.
It's not likely that I'll get alot of knitting done tomorrow though, as I have a pie, my traditional sage stuffing and gravy to make. Well, that's not too bad - maybe I can get a swatch done to show you.
Still waiting on the Homestead yarn for my tights...
I may not cook dinner often, well, hardly EVER these days, but I gotta have something baked around, especially as I'm having a (chemo) rash reaction to chocolate anything - cocoa, cake, brownies, candy, you name it. But I still want a sweet every day.

Printer fixed
Printer repair guy fixed my Phaser, so, back to finishing printing that order, and doing housework, as *usual*. Though he gave me a reduced price for driving time (1 hour each way), the repair bill eats up all the profit from this large order. At least I have the order, tho!Yarn in
The Briggs & Little Atlantic yarn came in, so now, after I'm done with the gift scarf, I can wind these up and swatch for the coat design.
It's not likely that I'll get alot of knitting done tomorrow though, as I have a pie, my traditional sage stuffing and gravy to make. Well, that's not too bad - maybe I can get a swatch done to show you.Still waiting on the Homestead yarn for my tights...
Chemo
Had chemo #4 yesterday and, as usual, spent hours NOT falling asleep last night. Some people would rather get up and do stuff. I'd rather stay in the warm comfie bed, than in the cold house. At least the bod gets to relax in bed.Cobbler
I made a peach cobbler 2 days ago, and it's almost gone already! The blueberry one I made lasted longer, as the recipe called for butter, LOTS of butter, which I used, but hubby couldn't go near it and I had to eat it in small amounts. So, this time, I substituted canola oil. I promised hubby some cinnamon buns after Thanksgiving.I may not cook dinner often, well, hardly EVER these days, but I gotta have something baked around, especially as I'm having a (chemo) rash reaction to chocolate anything - cocoa, cake, brownies, candy, you name it. But I still want a sweet every day.
