how I spent Sunday, on the work and home fronts

how I spent Sunday
Had a showing - with the widest berth of showing time - 2 hours. So, spent a few hours cleaning and putting things away, then sat for 2 hours not making a mess, not using anything, awaiting the agent's call to let me know she's on the way and I can go make the electric meter spin like mad.

They don't come. She calls 15 minutes late with lame excuse. Blood pressure rises. Our agent handled the issue.

Come on people, it's not hot enough yet for such behavior. Heck, it's hardly been hot at all lately.

on the work front
2 shop orders came in, which I printed. I was struggling with a new colorwork chart. It's 3-color stranded colorwork, or 2-color with a fair bit of duplicate stitch. Not crazy about either option, yet this motif seems only to look good in the 3 colors.

So, as I was feeling mostly human yesterday, I sat and worked on the chart, and developed a second colorway. Hours flew by. They always do when I'm working on color charts. I love doing it. So, now I have workable charts, simplified, only 2 colors per row, but, eh. They don't sing like the 3 color chart. One dazzling, the other, I don't know - commonplace, what you'd expect to see in a colorwork design.

The dazzling one is hypnotic to look at. So, it seems knitters will have to struggle through the duplicate stitch, because this could be a fab design, not just cutesy. And fab comes with extra effort.

on the home front
Hubby went for MRIs twice today, the torn tendon in the bicep may extend down his arm. Definitely surgery, then he'll be home for a few months. We've done the disability pay bit, 2 other summers when he had carpal tunnel surgery in each hand, and it's not easy. All I can hope is that the reps can get me lots of shop orders. AND that this house sells already.
