Our Small Nod to Consumerism, This shawl's For You
Nod
We're not big consumers, as in getting new appliances, cars, the latest techno gadget, the latest anything! etc. We're much more the wear-the-thing-out type of consumers, especially as things made 20+ years ago tend to have a longer life span, than the short built-in-obsolescence lives of many new goods. But, as I mentioned in a previous post, our nearly 30-year old vacuum was finally sputtering and coughing up dust way too often, to be considered an effective cleaning machine . So, I searched and read reviews and today, in the hail/rain, we drove to Lowe's and picked up our new Bissell Healthy Home vacuum.

All the reviews said it had great suction, and boy, were they right. I'm gonna be looking for excuses to vacuum with this baby!
BTW, when my gearhead hubby saw the ad for this thing, he said, "Ooh, it looks like a hot rod." So, that was his vote for at least considering this model!
Shawl
This new shawl design is speeding along. This will be the shawl for non-shawl wearers, like myself. If you find most shawls to be too delicate, light and feminine in design to fit into your modern wardrobe, well, this shawl's for you!
If you've always wanted a shawl-type of wrap, but don't like knitting lace, or can't follow the complicated charts, or don't have the time to sit and concentrate on complex lace - again, this shawl's for you!
I'm teasing, I know. Here's a picture of it on the ndls.

It's a 4-row lace fabric pattern, that becomes a 2-row pattern, when you increase evenly. Simple, meditative. And in this DK wt. 100% alpaca yarn by Kraemer Yarns - well, the drape will be wonderful, and 2, 100 gram skeins should do it.
Uh-oh - need more designs in the queue!
