Misbehaving Designs!

There's always a badly-mannered design or two that refuses to stand in line, quietly, patiently, and wait for its turn at the needles.

Last night, just such a design was feeling its oats and shoved its way to the head of the queue.

I really can't blame it, as for 2 months now, ever since I bought those 9 balls of Classic Elite's La Gran mohair, in ecru, from Bev Galeskas' stash sale, the yarn has been whining, "I want to play with that Galooboy Blue Peace Fleece." Oy. Shut up already. I hear you, but I've got other things to take care of first.

I had just finished the preliminary adjustments for the cape design in Peace Fleece's Samantha-Katya Pink, such as redefining the neck opening and collar, deciding on pockets or no, wrap tie or no, hood or no (too much like Little Red Riding Hood, I think! - though all these things are negotiable as I go along!), and which direction I would work the thing (bottom up, BTW, I really don't want to work designs top down).

And I was ready to order the yarn, but was temporarily stuck, as I always order enough yarn (23 hanks), so to get the nicely discounted price. I couldn't decide on the colors to get for the rest of the hanks, as I didn't have another PF design in the queue.

THAT'S when new design saw its opportunity, and beaming with self-satisfaction, overtook me!

I mentioned to fig, that I thought it might be a long time before I'd get to work on that Fair Isle and cable design idea, but nay, it's here, now. And I just said that yesterday - there's no telling! I'm swatching and running #'s now and should be able to CO later today.

Galooboy Blue Peace Fleece, which is a solid color, and ecru La Gran mohair, US size 8 (5 mm) ndls, a cardigan, v-neck, in Fair Isle and cables.

Just don't know yet whether I want buttons, zipper, or clasps. OOH!, or maybe NOTA (none of the above)! A built-in waist sash - hmmmm.....Tradition meets Contemporary Style!

And just as some designs push their way forward, others sink into the background. I may not be able to get to that cape right after this design, as I have more baby blanket designs to do, but time will tell.

A happy, productive and peaceful New Year to one and all!
Comments:
My baby boy is wearing Galooboy Peace Fleece right now. That is such great yarn! I can hardly wait to see the new design!

Yep, sometimes ya gotta strike while the idea is hot. Have fun! I can't wait to see the result.

I was wondering how you like the Peace Fleece yarn? I got some once for a felted project, and liked the results. But I've always wondered what it would be like for a sweater or some other item worn next to the skin. Is it itchy?
I love the story behind Peace Fleece and their colors are great, but would hate to buy a sweaters worth and not like it. Can you give me any advice?
