showing and drive by

Frrrrosty lately! Hubby bought some oil, so we could turn on all the steam rads to heat the house for the clients that came Saturday morning to see the house (and drove all the way from Long Island). House didn't get to be really warm, as 3 hours of slowing bringing the boiler up to speed (ya don't just crank up a cold boiler!) just brought it to about 64 degrees, but that's better than 50-52 degrees! We also left carafes of coffee and hot cocoa and anisette biscuits for them in the much warmer kitchen.

But that was Saturday. Yesterday's attempt at a showing was another story, and ended in a non-showing. So be it. If the clients want to see the place, the agent will have to try again and not jerk me around this time. (I'm tired of being the only one in these trilogies expected to jump through hoops.)

But it was the full moon, and lots of leeway (and ohmmmming) is required for surviving the full moon!

The other day I saw a new style of drive by. Hadn't seen this one before in our nearly 14 months on the market.

Car pulls up in front of house.

Car pulls into neighbor's driveway across the road - almost all the way up (as if to see what *their* house looked like, as their drive is steep so most turn-arounds *don't* pull all the way up).

Backs out and pulls in front of our driveway, to see the rear lawn.

Then pulls all the way into our large drive to *better* see the rear lawn!

Then pulls out, inches across front of house again.

Then pulls into our secondary driveway (that NO-ONE uses, because it's not much of a driveway, more a service drive, so it's easily overlooked), so they could see the grounds on the other side of the house better.

All the while, I'm following them, from window to window, so they were aware someone was indeed at home, as they did all this, and was watching them (in addition to the lights being on), lest they decide to do something stupid, like get out and wander the property. I'm sure if the second drive connected with the first one, they'd have driven completely around the house craning their necks to look into the house. Thorough, very thorough. Can't wait til that sign can come down.

Designing and knitting
More of the same. I think I'm gonna hold off releasing the new Jester pattern and new Pillbox pattern, until I have this new baby blanket pattern done, as well. I don't like having t interrupt pattern and design work with web work. Tho, today, I'm gonna give my metatags a good looking over and see if they can be improved upon.

Onward.
Comments:
Jester, is that the funky hat but now for adults? I sooooo want one :)
I want the baby blankets too, but that'd be a bit much to knit blankets with no baby in sight anywhere....:)
Hope your eyes are ok, don't stress yourself!

Oh no, Maus - I've written no adult sizes for that one! It's the Pillbox Hat that now has kids sizes. *However*, depending on head size and volume of hair!, the larger child Jester hat size could fit an adult.

Eyes are still hanging in there - but not stressing! lol. Not with the house on the market - there's no such thing as not stressing! But thanks for the well wishes - I do appreciate them!

Hopefully, that very thorough drive-by means a showing in the future.

Hopefully! And at least they didn't get out and wander my property uninvited, as some do.

There are days I see lots of drive-bys, yet no showings later occur. But better they do that than waste my time with a showing without having driven by first. The road proximity is the big issue with weekenders. But antiques were built close to the road - just the way life was then.
