Might I request an *all fingers crossed*?

For those who don't know me, 2 years ago, my right retina tore twice, thanks to my being VERY myopic and astigmatic since I was born. The first laser procedure and a week on my back yielded only 2 weeks of results, then it tore again and emergency surgery was scheduled. They - 2 retina surgeons did all 3 things they can do to save my vision. But I swore then that I would not go through that again.

The whole thing sucked big time and impaired my business quite negatively - I had to cease publishing the Heels and Toes Gazette soon afterwards, as half my subscription base, gained through 4 hard years of work, disappeared over the few months of recuperation, when I just couldn't be at the computer all the time.

Well, stupid left eye is now exhibiting similar floater behavior. I am truly hoping it's just the vitreous deflating, not the retina tearing, which is causing these bits and blobs in my sight, but I won't know for sure until I get to see the retina surgeon later this morning. So, I was up 1.5 hours earlier than usual, as it's an hour drive to the retina center - hence the early post - well, early *for me*!

Please send good wishes into the ethers! And if all turns out to NOT be The Big Deal and lay me up, I'll be sure to post again today.

Onward. Mush little doggies, I want to go Onward, not backwards.

PS
Note to Mom: Now don't go worrying! You need to rest and take care of yourself!

Similar to you, and for the same reasons, my right retina tore and then detached. I experienced the emergency surgery with the gas bubble and the buckle etc. That was 18 months ago. Like you, my life changed dramatically as a result.
This past spring the left eye retina - like yours - became symptomatic. It was caught in time so that laser surgery fixed the tear and it never detached. Laser is non invasive and done "on the spot". I fully understand what you are going throug and am hoping and wishing the best for you.
