Blue, Shop Order, Pen Farm

More than "Kind of Blue"

Red may be my personal color, but when it comes to politics, I'm blue through and through! And I reared a blue family, who are in various parts of the country, spreading their blueness.

Fortunately, unlike for some voters yesterday, we had no line to stand in. We zipped on down to the Firehouse, signed in, voted, and were out in a few minutes - one of the good sides to living in a smallish town. And thank goodness we still have the lever voting machines. May they be in use forever.

Large Shop Order

I have book printing to do today for that large shop order. Their 2 binders of patterns which will fill the flat rate Priority Mail box to the gills. So their 30 books (yes, 6 each of my 5 books!) will require a separate box. (oops on the 36 I posted before - would be nice if I could multiply!)

Naturally, I had to order more solid ink for the Phaser and more clear book covers and spines - all of which should be here tomorrow.

This kind of order doesn't happen every day, or every week, or even every month!, but when it does happen, it's a blessing, as I'm *still* waiting on a past due payment from another account.

My Kingdom for a Refill - How Not to Have a Pen Farm

Having a good pen to use every day is one of the small joys in life!

But why is it when I finally find a pen I like, I can't get refills?

I discovered Staples Xeno click pens. They've got grippy bits near the nib, which is nice, but it's the ink I love - a brighter blue, not the usual darker navy and it flows SO easily. Worthy of a repeat - SO easily!

They were supposed to have refills, but they're not online and they're always out, the times I actually can get into the store. So, I've bought a couple packs of pens, of which I now have about a dozen, sitting here, used up, but which I refuse to throw out, and they're not recyclable.

I really don't want to keep buying more and have to start a used pen farm!

Onward.
