Flower Baby Blanket and which cotton yarn?

Yes, it's out! The Flower Baby Blanket, hard copy and pdf versions available.

Need to order more yarn - I have 2 designs I WANT to work on and I don't have any cotton yarn! I asked, a few days ago, for input on Cascade Yarns new Luna (cotton) yarn and received no comments. No-one's used it? OK, how do you like Blue Sky Alpacas Organic Cotton and dyed cotton yarns? In the meantime, I have enough Eco+ in 3 colors to work up a couple/few things, while I decide which cotton yarn to use. Fuzzing, pilling, anything?

Now, cotton and I do not mix. Very much oil and water. Cotton is dry, unyielding, no fun to knit with, but these 2 projects *require* pure cotton, so I'm going to have to bite the bullet. At least they're small projects. No women's sweaters will *I* be knitting in cotton any day soon. But who knows, maybe these 2 cotton yarns are FAB and I'll love them?
Comments:
While I have not used these specific cottons that you mention, I find that organic cottons are a joy to work with. They are very soft, not stiff at all and not dry like the "regular" cotton. I have been told they wash well too. They are just so soft that if you're unlucky you have a plentitude of knots in the skein which are a pain to deal with. Usually the organic cotton is very softly spun and comes apart quite easily, hence the many knots I guess.

I used the Blue Sky organic
cotton. Unfortunatley, after
swatching and washing, it became
limp and fuzzy. I returned the
rest of the yarn!

Can you tell me what gauge you knit it at?
Dawb

Love your baby blanket, Dawn! I have used the Blue Sky organic as well. I am working on a project with it on US 9 needles at 16 sts & 20 rows per 4". I love the feel of it--so soft!

The blue sky is soft soft soft, but I find it leaves a lot of lint on the clothes underneath. Just to warn you.
