Patterns, Names, CIC Socks, Busy House Showing Weekend Coming
Still working on 2 of the patterns - final proofing and photo adjustments, coding them and creating their web pages and cross reference links.
I didn't have this before with my old site. I like having the various categories in which to list a design. For instance, the "Cap-Sleeve Summer Cardigan" will be listed in the crochet, solid color and cardigan categories. The "Cropped V-Neck Raglan" will be listed in the pullover and solid color categories. This way, a design will have a better chance of being noticed.
I'd like to change the home page sweater though to something lighter, more spring-like. So, as soon as budget allows, I'll email Jordana and see if she can update the home page. I'd do it myself but the garment with background are more than likely done with layers in Photoshop, which I can't do. I'm self-sufficient, but can't do everything!
I took the photos for the crochet baby sweater and hat design today. 21 shots, which gives 2-3 or so that are good enough to manipulate. I wish more things were blooming, to give more interesting backgrounds, but noooo.
The same thing happened with my "Cap-Sleeve Summer Cardigan". I wanted to call it Beachcomber Cardigan. The design samples colors are beachy, but do I have a beach in my backyard? - not yet.
I just couldn't call it Beachcomber with some boring grass and pine trees in the background. Yet another reason for a SERIOUS client to buy our house, so we can move to the cape - I'm dying to have some more interesting backgrounds for my design photos. Enough already with the grass and trees. (Not that I don't love grass and trees.) But, sand dunes and ocean and sunsets and wild beach roses against a wind-blown beach fence. Lighthouses and wharfs and docked boats and whitecaps and weathered grey cedar-clad houses..... This is the stuff really picturesque photos are made of.
I'm on my 5th pair of CIC socks, for this latest batch. They're addictive. I tell myself that I'm only gonna do 2 or 3 pairs, but before I know it 4 pair are done and washed and I've pulled out more yarn bits to do a couple more pairs.
This weekend is looking busy. An agent preview at 11:30 am, a showing at noon and possibly another showing on Sunday. And, as I've shortened the notice from 24 hours to 2-3 hours, who knows what other appointments will occur as the weekend goes on.
Pickles is much better from his surgery and 2 skin biopsies, and so he went to the groomer yesterday for a haircut, which he so needed. But when he came home and was running around, as he always does, happy to be home, he went and pulled his left rear leg muscle.
So, all day yesterday and today, the invalid is on the couch and I've been bringing him his food and water and carrying him outside to do his thing and upstairs at night - ufda. 37.5 lbs of dog to carry up 15 steps at a quarter to midnight gives new meaning to caring for one's pets. So, this weekend will be interesting, as we'll need to carry him to the car to take off for each showing. In the rain! Hahahaha.
