No Showings, and Lots of Mulch

No showings this weekend. Agent says it's oddly dead this weekend - great. Good, dry, sunny weekend and no-one's looking at houses?

I bought 10 more bags of red cedar mulch yesterday and filled the beds flanking the driveway and the side of the house where the peonies and lily of the valley are, and the small bed fronting the garage where the 2 climbing roses are. Today, I gotta go out front and dig shallow trenches around the 4 florida dogwoods, so I can insert the black edging and mulch them as well. And I gotta get hubby to put back the 2 white rose trellises in that garage rose bed, which had to come down for the garage to be painted. The roses had been cut down low as well - same reason. But they're sprouting again, and soon will be growing tall. Anything, within reason, to make the place look even nicer.

Looked for plants for the 2 white urns on the porch - but everything at Home Depot was sun-loving, not part shade, and I need part shade. So that'll have to wait until we can get to the nursery section of Adam's and brave the hoards. That place is always jammed, for good reason, there's no other good nursery for many miles, not to mention their specialty food market and local produce.

Well, the day's work awaits, but first my daily oatmeal.
